Everything You
Should Know ...
ENERGY TIP
While the tankless water heater is very efficient and you will never
run out of hot water, a circulation pump added to your hot water system
will make sure that you will have instant hot water along with an endless
supply of it!!
ENERGY TIP
Changing your air cleaner filter once a year will ensure your heating
and cooling
system operates at its maximum efficiency!
ENERGY TIP
You can save up to 4 % on your energy bill for every degree that you
lower your thermostat which you will do because your humidifier will
help you feel warmer at a lower setting!
SAFETY TIP
Its important that you have your furnace inspected to ensure that
it is in good working condition.
Be sure all furnace controls and emergency shutoffs are in proper
working condition.
Leave furnace repairs to qualified specialists. Do not attempt
repairs yourself unless you are qualified.
Inspect the walls and ceiling near the furnace and along the
chimney line. If the wall is hot or discolored, additional pipe insulation
or clearance may be required.
Check the flue pipe and pipe seams. Are they well supported,
free of holes, and cracks? Soot along or around seams may be an indicator
of a leak.
Keep trash and other combustibles away from the heating system.

SAFETY TIP
Be sure every level of your
home has a working smoke alarm, and be sure to check and clean it on
a monthly basis.
SAFETY TIP
Install Carbon Monoxide detector. You cant see or smell carbon
monoxide, but at high levels it can kill a person in minutes. Carbon
monoxide (CO) is produced whenever any fuel such as gas, oil, kerosene,
wood, or charcoal is burned

Heating systems loose their efficiency during their lifetime. 30 years
old, 80% efficiency furnace may operate at 60% or less. (40% of every
dollar you pay for heating is wasted through your chimney as a heat
). With new Energy
Star systems up to 97% of your dollar is used to heat your home)

Tips for Greening Your HVAC
Ways to be energy efficient for the short term and long haul
Turn the heat up (or down)
About 47 percent of the average household's annual energy bills stem
from
heating and cooling, according to the U.S. Department of Energy. Adjusting
your thermostat is free, easy and can yield big savings.
Research from the Trane Home Comfort Institute shows you'll save about
three percent of your heating costs for every degree you lower your
thermostat during winter months
During summer, you'll cut cooling costs three to four percent for every
degree you raise your thermostat
Install a programmable thermostat. Programmable thermostats are
easy to
install and will shave about 10 percent off of your heating and cooling
bills, says
the Alliance to Save Energy. The average annual savings is about $100.
Programmable thermostats often pay for themselves in two years or less.
Programmable thermostats like the Trane XL800, are designed to
maximize the performance of your home comfort systems with reliable
and accurate temperature control.
Because you can program them to raise or lower the temperature when
you're not home, they also save energy while still maintaining your
standard of comfort
Maintain your furnace and air conditioner According to the Alliance
to Save
Energy, the average household will spend almost $2,100 on home energy
costs in
2007, with heating and cooling costs accounting for about one-half of
the typical
residential energy bill.
Have your local independent
Trane dealer perform preventative
maintenance before the winter heating and summer cooling seasons
begin
Asking a professional to tune up your system every year for oil-fired
systems, every two years for gas furnaces and three years for heat pumps
will increase the life of the system, improve energy efficiency,
reduce
pollutants and save money
If your furnace, air conditioner or other major appliances, such as
heat
pumps, are more than 10 years old, it may make sense to replace them
with newer, more energy efficient models.
The Trane XV95 is the worlds most efficient gas
furnace and the first to
attain up to a 96.7 percent Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE)
rating, exceeding the government's minimum AFUE rating for furnaces
and boilers by nearly 20 percent. By installing this efficient furnace,
not
only are you doing something good for the environment, but you can get
up
to $200 in tax credits, and you are saving yourself up to 40 percent
on
energy consumption and, in-turn, lowering your energy bills
The Trane XL19i with one of the highest Seasonal
Energy Efficiency
Ratios available of up to 19.5 could save a family up to 59 percent
on
their annual energy bill
Green means a healthy and
comfortable home!
Green isnt just about recycling, minimizing waste and saving energy.
Green is
also about being healthy and comfortable in our environments
especially when
it comes to our homes. The EPA says indoor air is four to five times
more polluted
than outdoor air.
Trane CleanEffects is the first central air cleaning system that
removes up
to 99.98 percent of particles and allergens from the filtered air down
to .1
microns the size so small that your nose and mouth cannot effectively
filter them naturally, so they settle deep in your lungs and may affect
your
health
Trane CleanEffects is 100 times more effective than the typical 1-inch
disposable filter found in 85 percent of American homes with an HVAC
system
More to come!
